General Scope of Construction Project:
Beach nourishment and dune construction for approximately four (4) miles of beach area along Grand Isle shoreline. Work activities included loading and hauling approximately 250,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand from sand dredge placement areas along the beach to designated dune/beach locations. Sand was placed over existing geotextile tubes for dune construction and along beach nourishment templates. Beach nourishment activities extended 200 feet seaward from the newly constructed dune to a required elevation of +5.0 feet.
