General Scope of Construction Project:
Construction of 30-acre Dredge Material Placement Area (DMPA) including levee construction and outfall structures within the permitted area. Hydraulic dredging of over 450,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand from a permitted off-shore borrow source. Dewatering and drying the 450,000 cy of saturated sand. Excavation and hauling the approximately 450,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand to designated areas along approximately 3.5 miles of the Galveston Seawall from the DMPA and designated beach borrow source areas. Beach nourishment activities extended seaward 250 feet from the seawall to a required elevation of +5.0 feet.
