General Scope of Construction Project:
APOLLO^® was contracted to construct a 22-acre Dredge Material Placement Area (DMPA) including levee construction and outfall structures within the permitted area. Hydraulic dredging of 90,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand from a permitted off-shore borrow source. Dewatering and drying sand for truck transport. Excavation and hauling of approximately 80,000 cubic yards of beach quality sand to designated areas along the Galveston Seawall from the DMPA and designated beach borrow source areas. Beach nourishment activities extended 140 feet seaward from the seawall to a required elevation of +5.0 feet.
